Catrina holds a BSc majoring in Psychology with post graduate study in Social Work & has undertaken training to specialise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She also has much experience working with at-risk youths.

In 2017 Catrina lost her mother to cancer. Her father passed away in 2012 also from cancer. Her life experience has given her a keen interest in the process of grief and regularly explores this through her personal blog.

She is Mother to Lucy.
